If you are looking for work, can go where cities grow. Cities increasingly more often need people to work in the service industries. In addition, depending on the population, there may be some specific niche to fill. My husband is finishing his PhD in this semester, and is on the hunt for work. As a result, is applying for many jobs, in the hope that he can land a job in this slow labour market.
Perhaps as we hope, however, you can consider jobs in some of the fastest growing cities. You can find just what you are looking for. (Because I am an independent writer, I can work from anywhere). CNN Money just put a list of the fastest growing cities in the United States. Perhaps it's worth in these cities looking for job opportunities:
Palm Coast, Florida St. George, Utah Las Vegas, Nevada Raleigh, Carolina of the North Cape Coral, Florida Provo, Utah Greeley, Colorado Austin, Texas Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Bend, OregonTwo cities are in our current state, and two in neighbouring States. And Oregon is not really now. CNN Money article offers ideas on what industries are growing up in cities, so you can get a good idea if your set of skills that work well.
To move or not to follow? That is the decision
Of course, whether or not move only to get a job depends on you. In some cases, it might make sense to move to a city that offers better prospects for work. However, it would not be practical. A number of factors, cost of living to the difficulties that sell his house, could make it difficult to move the family to a new city.
Because of these difficulties, the long-distance commute is becoming more common. Some people drive - or fly - hundreds of miles for a trip. Stay in a hotel or a small apartment in working days and then come home on weekends. It is difficult for the families, but in many circumstances more financially so that it has to completely relocate. Among other factors of the economy and the housing market, might make sense make the long distance journey.
For some, however, move makes more sense. If you are going to move to take a fairly stable working and you can pay the cost of living in the city of new (and if you can figure out something to do with the camera), might be useful to take the step. In this way, it is possible to be together as a family while that get a job.
My husband and I have not had to cross this bridge yet, but we have been considering options. In the end, is largely dependent on what kind of work gets. It is applying for jobs at universities. There are a lot of temporary jobs of lecturer and visiting professor. If you get one of those, there is a good chance that my son and I will remain immobile until things are a bit more permanent. It is not a fun choice, but in this market, it's not fun, hard work, and much more. It's what you can get.
